Jes (Meszaros) Dixon
I've had Salukis my entire life. My mom, Anna, has been breeding Salukis since 1980. Ch. El-Shaddai's Saukenuk Mac F.Ch. was a cream dog from that 1st litter and he became my 1st show dog. At the age of 10 I entered the Jr. Showmanship ring with Mac, he and I did great! I even won a Best Junior with him from the Novice Jr. Class.
I've shown many of my mom's Salukis as well some for my "aunts" or maybe other "moms" Kim Allison, Carmen Day & Tina Jumbelick. My very 1st Saluki was Ch. El-Shaddai's Amazing Grace, Gracie. My 2nd Saluki was Ch. El-Shaddai's Guardian Angel, Feather, who I did great in the show ring with. She finished in very limited showing & I had a blast!
The 1st litter that I co-bred with my mom & Carmen Day was a matching between Ch. El-Shaddai's Ruger Mark Two, JC x El-Shaddai's Special Romance JC. This mating produced my all-time favorite show dog (bitch actually), Ch. El-Shaddai's Kabad 'el Halal JC, Abby, as well as my silly parti boy, Maha.. From Abby came my Zazu (GCh. El-Shaddai's Eternal Watermark JC sired by Mambo) who was RWD at the 2012 SCOA National Specialty.
My Pablo (Ch. El-Shaddai Emma Dancer Chezday out of the Danny x Pearl mating) has turned into an extraordinary Stud Dog! His great qualities have enhanced every litter he has sired. To date he has four litters and in those four litters he has Multiple Specialty Winners, Multiple Group Placing Winners, Agility Titles, Obedience Titles, Multiple Best In Sweepstakes Winners, Lure Coursing Titles, 2014 National Specialty Triathlon Winner, 2013 & 2014 National Specialty Award of Merit Winner, 2015 National Specialty Best of Opposite Sex & Select Dog, and I'm sure I'm leaving some amazing accomplishments by his kids. To put it plainly - Pablo kids Rock!!
Out of Pablo has come one of the best dogs I have bred - Clark. He is everything I'd want a male saluki to be and his attitude about other dogs and life in general is completely awesome! I will incorporate him into my breeding program and am excited to see if he will follow in his father's stud dog paw-prints!
Overall, I can't imagine my life without a Saluki (preferably multiple Salukis), and my hope is that my children will have inherited the "Saluki gene" from me and continue on what my mom started. I believe that Salukis should be both functional & beautiful, never forsaking one for the other. I don't know what the future holds, but I am sure that it's going to be a lot of fun!!
Currently I share my home with 5 Salukis - Pablo (Ch. El-Shaddai Emma Dancer Chezday), Zazu (Gr Ch. El-Shaddai's Eternal Watermark JC), Clark (El-Shaddai PS I M Superman), Nazeem (Lorrequer Legacy at El-Shaddai) & Jewel (El-Shaddai's Jeweled Bliss Nefer Ka).
